Level 1 Standard
This Level is assessed by an external assessor brought in by the Teacher. This is the Standard of assessment expected before other training may take place.

Assessment takes place across 3 modules, normally consisting of sword and dagger, single sword and unarmed combat, performed within the context of an acted scene with dialogue. Each module is expected to be of a minimum of 15 paired moves

Upon completion of the Standard assessment, student may progress in their training. Those that achieve a Pass or Merit will be expected to develop through Level 2 at the Intermediate Level Those that Pass with Distinction or Assessors Star are expected to go to achieve Distinctions and are of an Advanced Level. Though Level students may achive some Distinctions, and Level 3 students may alos achieve below Distinction on modules

Level 3 Advanced
Students may now progress to a wider range of training and possible modules. Modules are expected to comprise a minimum of 30 moves.

Depending on time and other factors students may be assessed on 1 or more modules and these may be accumulated across a extended period of time and across a number of assessments. There is no upper limit on the modules that may be assessed at Level 2/3 However a minimum of 5 are needed to have completed Level 2 or Level 3

Modules taught and assessed at the same levels, those that achieve a Pass or Merit are considered to be of an Intermediate Standard, those at Distinction or Distinction * are considered to be Advanced.

On completion of the minimum of 5 Modules the individual will achieve an overall standard based upon the Mode of the 5 modules. For example 3 Distinctions and 2 Merits would be classes as Distinction.
