Rodney Cottier
Has been directly involved in Stage Combat since 1976, when he went to LAMDA where he was taught by John Waller.
Rodney has continued to work at LAMDA, having been Head of Drama for a number of years. He has worked as a fight director and has taught acting and combat as well as directing around the world

Jonathan Howell
A combat teacher and Fight Director for many years, having previously been a dancer and actor.
Having spent some of his development as a fight Teacher working with John Waller, he sahre core elements of methods and application
Jonathan is the head of Movement and Combat Teacher at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School

Kristina Soeborg
Has been teaching stage combat since 1999, previously having taught Wing Tsun and Latosa Escrima, as well as been a gymnast and teaching gymnastics and she played basketball at a high level in Denmark
As well as teaching across the British isles she has taught frequently in Mexico as well as a number of European countries, including, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany and Italy


Jonathan  Waller
Jonathan has been a professional Combat Teacher, Fight director and historical consultant since 1993. He has been involved in teaching for over 30 years having served his apprenticeship under John Waller and Rodney Cottier. Teaching at top drama programs in London during that time, he is currently teaches combat at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art where he has taught for 20 years and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama since 1994 and the Rutgers University BFA Acting Program at Shakespeare’s Globe since 1998.

He is a Master at Arms in The British Academy of Dramatic Combat having been a member of The British Society of Fight Directors/British Academy of Dramatic Combat from 1994-2015

He also regularly teaches Stage Combat in Italy and Mexico, where his methods have prompted the founding of the countries first stage combat organisation. He has trained fight teachers from Britain, the USA, Canada, Spain, Italy, Mexico and South Korea.

His work has involved him in television drama, documentary and commercials, work for film and for the stage, with over 80 professional theatre credits including productions for Cheek By Jowl, The National Theatre, The Young Vic, The English Touring Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe, including working on The Globes Richard III, with Mark Rylance currently on Broadway.

Jonathan is a researcher of historical cultures, behaviours and combative practices, following in the footsteps of his father, also a researcher and practitioner who also taught stage combat at Guildhall, as well as a Fight director and teacher. Jonathan is an archer and has and fought with the weapons and armour and o horse back from many periods and contributing research to the Royal Armouries Museums and the Mary Rose Trust. His skills and knowledge have lead to him working, lecturing and teaching Historical combat styles across Europe, Japan and the USA and has had his research published. He is a co-founder and Senior Teacher of The European Historical Combat Guild

Jonathan Jaynes
Began in Stage combat while a student at LAMDA, winning their Fight Night twice, prior to LAMDA he had and continues to practice various Martial arts.
Jonathan teachers at a number of independent drama schools in London, works as a fight director and is an actor

    James Musgrave here from LAMDA.

    Sam Hill and I are producing a show for Hogarth House in Chiswick which happens to have quite a bit of fight in. We wondered whether you would be interested in helping out? We have reserved the 14th and 15th July for arranging the fight and music for the show. Would those dates suit either of you?
